RESIGNATION
With a note of sadness, I want to let you know that I’m retiring from
pastoring. The reason is my health, Cathy’s health and my age. It’s
taking a toll on me driving 200 miles round-trip every week.. It is
especially difficult for me to drive at night.
I want you to know that I love each of you and I love this church. I’m
thankful for those who have been in leadership during this pastorate!
It is a privilege pastoring you and I’m impressed that Church of God
doctrine is so important to you; as important as it is to me, because
it’s what the Bible teaches. We’re going to have to find a church in
the Anderson area, so pray for us as we do. But we wanted to be here
with you for Easter, Faith Promise and the campmeeting. We’ll have
to leave our campmeeting and go to Ohio on Thursday of those
meetings to help with and officiate my granddaughter Emily’s and her
fiancée, Justin’s wedding on Saturday, June 28 th in Ohio. We won’t be
back on June 29th because of family and after-wedding activities but
we will be back the weekends of July 6 th and 13 th . I will preach my
farewell sermon on the morning of the 13 th . That will be our final
service. I hope that you understand. We have really enjoyed the six
years and 2 months we have spent with you. We will continue
praying for you and this church. I hope you understand and will pray
for us and wish us well. We will still be accessible by phone and you
are invited to visit us. Until then…know that we love you with the
love of God!
With His Love, Pastor Bill and Cathy Means
